dbda scoops another international Road Safety Award
dbda is delighted to be recognised and to have won yet another Prince Michael International Road Safety Award for the 'Just a Journey?' resource in the 'Education and Training' category, sponsored by Wincanton. This unique, interactive, multimedia, road safety education resource has been specifically designed and developed by dbda for 7-11 year olds across the UK.
'Just a Journey?' is a coherent part of dbda's robust educational programmes for schools, tackling road safety issues predominantly through literacy and citizenship, illustrating the richness of social, economic and ethnic diversity, covering all rural and urban road issues.
The ceremony held at the Park Lane Hotel, Mayfair on 8th December 2009 was supported by the Speed Check Services and showcased the most outstanding examples of international road safety initiatives, which were given public recognition for their achievement and innovation. "We are committed to expanding the use of this valuable programme throughout the UK and internationally," said managing director of dbda, Dawn Boyfield, MBE.
Members of the dbda team attended the prestigious event which provided a perfect opportunity to acknowledge the national and international achievements of many other organisations and individuals who contribute to further reducing the causes of road injury and death on the roads.
"We are thrilled to have won such an acclaimed award in the road safety arena, internationally and in the UK. It is our mission to continue developing new and innovative educational resources to help support child casualty reduction in the UK. Road safety is important to us and we would like to congratulate all those continuing to make a difference!” said dbda account director, Bharti Bhikha.
