dbda finds out about the issues faced by the youth of today...
dbda has recently held a series of focus groups on behalf of Nationwide Building Society in order to identify some of the key interests, issues and finance related concerns faced by 16-20 year olds in today's society.
The focus groups were held as part of the ongoing research and development process for the new 16+ Financial Capability resource 'Finance World', due to launch on the Nationwide Education website in the autumn.
A number of local youth workers and personal advisors were involved in the focus groups as well as the youth members currently engaged on the Harrow VTalent programme, a Government initiative run by Harrow Council. All of the participants were extremely enthusiastic and eager to provide their views on issues ranging from the best television shows, social networking sites and radio stations to dream jobs, the credit crunch and the cost of living.
The youth workers and advisors provided us with some invaluable insights into the issues faced by young people, helping to make these focus groups extremely informative whilst serving to strengthen dbda's reciprocal links with local government organisations.
