New awards for Nationwide Education

Nationwide Education, designed and developed for Nationwide Building Society, has scooped two new awards which recognise excellence in communications and community investment.

The free education website has won the International Visual Communications Association (IVCA) Clarion Awards' "Corporate Communications Best Interactive" and was also judged best in class by the Mortgage Finance Gazette, earning it the "Community Services Award". It has also been short-listed for the Children & Young People Now "Financial Capability Award".

Aimed at 4 to 16 year olds, Nationwide Education is designed to stimulate learning and build important life skills, confidence and knowledge in the areas of Financial Capability, Safety and Sustainable Living.

All programmes can be used on PCs at school or home and make full use of the latest interactive whiteboard technology. Interactive story books and games engage pupils and supporting glossaries, fact and work sheets provide information and activities to reinforce learning. All resources link to the UK Curricula and sections for teachers and parents support learning at school or home.

Nicki Della Porta, Senior Account Manager at dbda said: "We recognise that learning should be fun! Interactive resources are powerful and effective education tools that help to get serious messages across in an engaging and stimulating way. They attract and engage young people using a language that resonates best with them."

Dion Alday, Strategic Partnership Manager at Nationwide, said: "We are passionate about supporting education and building key life skills that will influence the lives of individuals and have a positive impact on the local community. The flexibility of Nationwide Education means that we are really making a difference to students' learning in the classroom, as well as at home."
