Liverpool captain and England midfielder, Steven Gerrard, was a big hit with pupils on his visit to a Liverpool secondary school to promote Nationwide Education, the innovative online resource created by dbda for Nationwide Building Society.

"I am delighted to help support Nationwide Education which is assisting millions of school children up and down the country with their learning programmes," commented Gerrard, who delighted students with his visit.

The website makes full use of the latest interactive technology, for PCs and interactive whiteboards in school, to ensure that serious learning can be stimulating and fun. With specially designed resources for pupils from ages 4 to 16, it includes interactive storybooks, quizzes and games as well as fact and work sheets.

All resources are fully linked to the UK curricula and include extensive support materials for teachers as well as tips and discussion points for parents to help support learning at home.

New programmes for 16-18 year olds will be launched in the Autumn.
