Ten Alps Plc is a factual media company – TV, online and print. It was founded by Live Aid and Live 8 projects creator, musician in the Boomtown Rats and entrepreneur Bob Geldof, (whose previous TV company Planet 24 successfully produced the Big Breakfast, and whose Survivor TV format is one of the most successful in the USA).
We create and manage factual media. Because the audience is now multi-platform, we target content to audiences and customers across all the media outlets including television and radio programmes, websites, online TV, live events and over 500 specialist publications.
TV: Ten Alps is one of the UK's leading producers of factual broadcast television, through TV production companies:
- Brook Lapping, where Brian Lapping and Norma Percy are key executive producers
- Blakeway, where Fiona Stourton and Denys Blakeway are key executives, which produces key films for Channel 4 Dispatches and Panorama
- Below the Radar, which is Belfast TV production company
- Films of Record, headed by Roger Graef, which is a pioneer of the fly on the wall documentary
Ten Alps has a major role in SchoolsWorld a brand-new multimedia platform, providing innovative and informative content, for everyone involved, or wanting to be involved, with schools with over 3000 programmes online run by dbda, Ten Alps's corporate social responsibility consultancy.
Online: Ten Alps produces online TV and websites for Business to Business sector, Regional News, Science and Education channels. The Detail is local award winning online investigations and analysis online news channel based in Belfast. Newton TV recently re launched in a new partnership with the Guardian's science website offering cutting edge science programmes. Ten Alps also owns corporate social responsibility company dbda, with offices in Harrow and Bournemouth. Dbda manages SchoolsWorld.
Print: Ten Alps is a top UK contract publishing company - with 500 specialist titles, plus 200 associated websites, e-books, video production and online TV services, plus specialist conferences and events across the public and private sector. Ten Alps owns contract publishing and advertising sales companies Atalink, Grove House Publishing and Ten Alps Publishing. Ten Alps also owns the advertising agency and marketing communications businesses Ten Alps Creative and Media based in Fareham in Hampshire near Portsmouth and also Edinburgh. Ten Alps has offices in Fareham, Edinburgh, London, Manchester and Macclesfield.
