Are you ready for Road Safety Week: 21-27 November?

Road deaths have become an epidemic that kills an estimated 1.3 million people globally each year and injures a further 50 million. Every day, in Britain alone, six young people aged 12-19 are killed or seriously hurt on foot or bicycles, and 19 young people under 25 are killed or seriously hurt by cars.

Brake’s ‘Road Safety Week’ initiative aims to give everyone an opportunity to promote road safety in their community, school or company. It also provides an ideal opportunity to get local people together to put an end to needless road deaths and injuries in their region by running their own individual campaigns.

This year the campaign will focus on improving young driver safety and Brake’s “Too young to die” campaign. It’s easy to get involved and hundreds of community groups and organisations are signing up to run a road safety campaign or fundraiser during the week.

If you are running a campaign or initiative during Road Safety Week, dbda and RoSPA products can help you. We provide a range of safety education resources that help anyone working with children, young people and families get important messages across to create safer roads and change attitudes and behaviours when out and about. Our products are designed to make learning fun and memorable and help save lives.
