Get Finance Ready!
dbda has brought innovative financial education films to life.
Are you Finance Ready? 90% of teenagers say they worry about money on a daily basis while 51% of teenagers said they would like to learn how to control their spending.
The Finance Ready suite of five films, produced for Nationwide Education by dbda, launched in December. They aim to teach children and young people the key basics which will help them through the world of money.
The films cover key subject areas, such as;
Start Saving – Dave helps his uncle Pete with some painting; and when he receives a cheque for the work, he’s told he needs to open a bank account. He chooses a savings account because he wants to save up for small things, like a private jet.
Start banking – when moving into her new flat, Jaynee is nervous about keeping on top of her finances. Jaynee opens a current account and is able to transfer, direct debit and write cheques with as little fuss as possible.
Hole in the wall – money makes the world go round is what they say. At the heart of all this are ATMs (automatic teller machines). Lenny has dinner plans and needs cash, he knows his way round an ATM, topping up his phone and checking how much money he needs to woo his hot date.
Paying with plastic – what is a chip and PIN? Is it a potato kebab? No, it stands for ‘chip’, which is your card, and ‘PIN’ which is your personal identification number. A chip and PIN combined, means your money is always safe.
Get online – Dave has a new bank account and he wants to do some online shopping. With online banking, Dave can check his account and make secure purchases with the money he has saved in his bank account.
The Finance Ready films are free, fun, practical and informative, and are designed to be watched over and over again.
