SchoolsWorld and Guinness World Records

SchoolsWorld have teamed up with the Guinness World Records to celebrate its relaunch and offer shools an opportunity to win a visit from the ‘World’s Tallest Man’ Sultan Kosen.

SchoolsWorld, run by dbda (part of the Ten Alps group who developed and managed Teachers TV for the Department of Education) is a site specifically allowing free access to all 3,500 videos and resources from the Teachers TV archive…but much, much more!

Over the last 8 months the team at SchoolsWorld have been busy behind the scenes building, enhancing and extending the content and developing a brand new site, allowing not just teachers, but everybody in and around the world of schools, free access to an incredible range of educational content.

SchoolsWorld now has sections:

  • For pupils and students, with fun interactives and content to help with their learning and revision.
  • For parents, bringing a wealth of best practice videos and information delivered in partnership with Parenting UK, one of the UK’s leading parenting charities.
  • On subjects ranging from understanding the UK education system, to dealing with the first day at school, bed wetting, drink and drugs. This is in partnership with one of the UK’s leading parenting charities – Parenting UK.
  • To help businesses understand how they can get involved with the educational arena.

This highly interactive and engaging resource will even feature a bite sized daily digest of educational news and features.

Barry Sherman MP Chair of The Skills Commission

“I am delighted to see the rebirth of a unique educational gem with SchoolsWorld. Encapsulating as it does a superb Continuing Professional Development resource for teachers and school communities with the added bonus of a wonderful resource for parents.”

We also heard from many teachers and educational professionals, including James Lumber, Assistant Head at Hamworthy Middle School Poole, Dorset:

“SchoolsWorld collects together in one place valuable CPD training for teachers, NQTs and Governors, but really interesting is the harnessing of good advice for Parents.”

Coinciding with the launch our friends over at Guinness World Records recently launched a suite of cross-curricula resources using a wealth of content from the 2012 Edition. To help celebrate SchoolsWorld they are partnering us in an online competition to win a visit from the world’s tallest man.
